As on date it’s the largest Salt works with a captive capacity to produce 100,000 Metric tons of salt per year.

Salt is produced in our Salt farms by the solar evaporation of sea water (brine) methodology. Seawater is pumped into solar pans and concentrated by the process of natural evaporation. During the favorable climatic conditions where the ratio of evaporation to rainfall is suitably high, solar evaporation of sea water facilitate to produce salt. The brine is evaporated in a linked set of ponds until the solution is sufficiently concentrated in the final pond such that the salt crystallizes on the pond's floor.

This crystallized salt which is about 95-97% pure in Sodium chloride is then transferred to the plant where sand and other extraneous materials are removed by washing with saturated brine and piled for sun dry.

The next step involves taking this washed salt in to refinery where it is crushed to table salt size of below 1 mm granule, washed again to remove all the insoluble and bone dried to bring the moisture to below 0.1% by Centrifuge and Fluidized Bed Dryer, Iodized and sieved for better uniform particle size.

Once the salt is ready for use, it is packed in various denominations as per the market needs. Neelknath Salt thus manufactured using state of the art technology, is hygienic and free from impurities. Also it has the requisite and consistent amount of iodine and natural saltiness, that will make it the ‘Chumvi" of choice in the country.
